New Audi SQ5 TDI is more powerful, sporty, and efficient than the first generation. Its V6 diesel engine delivers the power smoothly and forcefully.
It is clear that although they are less sought after than before, diesel engines are desirable in terms of efficiency and performance. If not, Audi would not continue betting on this technology, as it does now with the new SQ5 TDI.
This time, the new generation of this version, which on its debut in 2012,
became the first S with diesel mechanics, stands out for having a sportier
appearance, outstanding power, and great fuel efficiency, considering the
power it delivers.
What is the best thing about the Audi SQ5 TDI?
Unfailingly, the most striking thing about the new Audi SQ5 TDI is the
3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine producing 341 hp and 516 pound-feet of
torque, available between 1,750 and 3,250 rpm.
Using this power, the sportiest version, for the moment, of the Q5 can
accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.1 seconds, while the maximum speed
is restricted to 250 km / h.
Because the six-cylinder engine has the 48-volt Mild Hybrid (MHEV) system,
the truck can roll smoothly into coasting mode with the engine off for up to
40 seconds, after which the engine restarts.
In addition to this system, the engine integrates an electric compressor,
which activates the turbocharger when exhaust gas flow does not have enough energy. With this help, turbo-lag is completely eliminated,
allowing immediate response when starting or at low revs.
New Audi SQ5 TDI
- Power is transmitted to the wheels via an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox adapted to the new engine, which enables fast and smooth transitions.
- Depending on the driving style, the Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system distributes the torque between the front and rear axles in a ratio of 40:60, 70:30, 85:15.
- As an option, the sport rear axle differential, which actively controls the distribution of torque between the rear axle wheels when the driver adopts a sporty driving style.
- The suspension is designed to match the performance of the powerful turbodiesel engine.
- Similarly, the suspension is lowered to reduce body height by 30mm compared to the regular Q5.
- Through Audi drive select, the driver can modify the engine's response, transmission, steering, and suspension based on six modes: auto, comfort, efficiency, dynamic, offroad, and individual.
- Inside it is distinguished by design in black or dark gray, with aluminum inserts.
- As standard, it combines leather and synthetic leather. Simultaneously, you can choose between a combination of leather and Dinamica microfiber, made mainly from recycled plastic material, and which replaces Alcantara.
